Tri-State Speedway News & Publicity

Posted April 16, 2018

Haubstadt, IN - April 16, 2018 -  The season opener at Tri-State Speedway has been delayed a week because of rain.  The World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car program set for April 14th had to be postponed.  Wet conditions were forecast to prevail over the weekend, but one and all will make a second effort.  The entire event featuring the World of Outlaws Sprints and the UMP Open Wheel Modifieds will now be held on Sunday April 22nd.

This is the second year in a row that a rain date had to be selected in order to provide this always popular event to the area race fans.

This next weekend the Outlaws will be racing Friday at the Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis, Arkansas.  Saturday they will appear at the Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Missouri.  The Tri-State make-up date follows on Sunday evening.  The  distance from Pevely to Haubstadt presents a three hour drive easily linked by interstates.

With the rain date at Tri-State being on a Sunday night, the program will begin earlier.  This is in consideration of the workday and school obligations of families come Monday morning.  Expect everything to get underway an hour earlier!  Time trials will begin at 5:30 and racing at 6:30 C.D.T.

Many fans purchased tickets in advance.  Those advance tickets will be honored on April 22nd.  Tickets will also be available for purchase at the track.  With a new date and it being on Sunday night, additional fans will now have an opportunity to pay an early season visit to the Class Track.

The schedule change provides races at the Haubstadt quarter mile on two consecutive weekends.  The USAC and MSCS Sprints will provide racing with the more traditional non-wing sprint cars on Saturday April 28th.  Fans will also want to check out the new LED lighting installed at the track during the off season.  The 61st season at the speedway will be the brightest one yet!
