Tri-State Schedule for 2013

Haubstadt, IN - Jan. 31, 2013. The 2013 racing season at Tri-State
Speedway will open on Saturday night April 20th with the World of
Outlaws STP Sprint Cars and the UMP Open Wheel Modifieds. This will
be the first weekend that the World of Outlaws will be racing
anywhere in the Midwest after launching their season in Florida and
then campaigning across the West. Donny Schatz is the defending WoO
Champion. 2012 WoO Points Runner-up Craig Dollansky won last year's
event at Tri-State Speedway.
Tickets for the World of Outlaw Sprints can be purchased in advance by
calling 812-768-6025. Visa and Master Card will be accepted. Purchases can
be made beginning on February 15th.
The United States Auto Club and the Hoosier Tire Midwest Sprint Car
Series will combine forces for a non-winged event at Haubstadt on
Saturday night May 11th. The Spring Showdown that night and the
Hoosier Sprint Nationals, which will be held at Haubstadt on August
3rd, will both pay five grand to win. However, the biggest purse
drivers will be competing for in 2013 will be at the Haubstadt
Hustler on Saturday night September 14th. That event is also
co-sanctioned with the USAC & MSCS Sprints running for $10,000 to
win. The USAC Indiana Sprint Week Champion will also be crowned at
Tri-State Speedway with the finale set for Saturday evening July
The MSCS Memorial Weekend Classic at Tri-State on May 26th will also
double as one of the races on the 2013 KISS schedule. The non wing
sprints will be racing for $2,500 to win. In all 9 MSCS events will
be held at the Tri-State Speedway this season.
An event just added to this year's schedule is the Tri-State Summer
Showdown. The new attraction, on Saturday June 8th, will present the
Summit Modified Nationals which will pay $3,000 to win. The program
will also include the first ever appearance of the PCRA Late Models
at the track. A month later on Sunday July 7th the UMP Late Models
will be at Haubstadt as part of the Summernational's Hell Tour.
The MSCS Sprints will share the racing card with several other
organizations in 2013 thus adding a great deal of variety to the
overall schedule. On Saturday June 15th the MOWA Winged Sprints will
also be in the house for the Southern Indiana Sprint Car Stampede.
Fans will see both winged and non-winged cars racing on the Haubstadt
oval in separate programs on the same night. On June 29th the PowrI
Midgets and Micro Sprints will be on the card with MSCS for this
year's Summer Blast. The September 28th Class Track Fall Roundup
will include the ALMS Late Model Series and UMP Modifieds as well as
the MSCS Sprints. This will be a unique opportunity for a fan to see
both sprints and late models competing on the same night.
In all the UMP Open Wheel Modifieds will be on the racing card eleven
times this season. The only two exceptions are the June 15th and
June 29th races.
One of the highlights of every season is the Labor Day Weekend
Challenge at Tri-State Speedway. It will be held on Sunday September
1st with MSCS competing for $3,000 to win.
Tri-State Speedway will also host the MSCS Season Finale again this
season. The feature winner on October 12th will receive the Harvest
Cup and a $4,000 top prize. Following the racing that night, the new
MSCS Champion and Rookie of the Year will be honored at an awards
presentation. Jon Stanbrough won the 2012 MSCS Championship and the
title is his to defend in 2013.
