TENTH ANNUAL HOOSIER SPRINT NATIONALS IS AUGUST 2
Haubstadt, IN - July 30, 2014. The Hoosier Tire Midwest Sprint Car
Series will swing back into action on Saturday August 2nd. The
occasion will be the 10th annual Hoosier Sprint Nationals at
Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, IN. The feature will pay $5,000 to
the winner. It is one of the two longest feature races on this
year’s MSCS schedule. The Hoosier Sprint Nationals and the Haubstadt
Hustler in September are both 40 laps in distance.
The additional purse, the additional laps, the early August date, the
passing points format, and the opportunity to claim a national’s
title in Hoosierland are all likely factors that have contributed to
making this race an ongoing and popular attraction for fans and
competitors. Eight Hoosier Sprint National events have been held to
date and eight different drivers have posted a win.
Kyle Cummins continues to lead in Hoosier Tire Midwest Sprint Car
Series points. The Princeton, IN, driver has finished either second,
third, or fourth in the last four MSCS features. He is getting
closer and closer to a win this season.
One obstacle in the path of the road to victory for anyone else
recently has been a white number 12 sprint car. The driver Robert
Ballou has been collecting win after win. His current streak of MSCS
victories stands at three in a row. He is currently “the man” to

standings. MSCS 2013 Rookie of the Year Bradley Sterrett stands
second in points. The top three drivers are less than 50 points
apart with 70 on the line at each race held. Jeff Bland Jr. and
Brandon Mattox round out the top five in MSCS points. Bland has two
feature wins this season and Mattox is enjoying a very competitive

The UMP Open Wheel Modifieds will also be competing on August 2nd.
The pit gate will open at 3:30 P.M. C.D.T. with the stands to open an
